Julio Bouchon

Family tradition and passion for wine

julio bouchon The vineyards are located in the Maule Valley, in the coastal rainfall area which has poor soil and a Mediterranean climate. Rain is concentrated in the winter months, leaving a long, sunny and dry summer growing season.

The Bouchon vineyards cover a total of 370 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay.

Most of the vines are about 60 years old, yielding, deep colours and rich, fruity flavours.

The yield is only about 7- 8000 kilos per hectare

Traditional practices of hand picking of the grapes and clusters selection are followed, contributing to a consistent high quality. Irrigation is used to supplement the rainfall.
