Bodega Lurton

Jacques and François Lurton are sons of André Lurton, a renowned Bordeaux producer. In 1988, backed by a wealth of knowledege and know-how, thet set about creating their own range of wines from around the world.

They chose specific terroirs in Mendoza for the quality of their soil, their micro-climate and the amounts of irrigation water available from the Andes. These lands were 100 virgin territory for vine growing, completely natural, no previous use of chemicals on the land.

To date 124 hectares have been planted, which does not meet the needs of the winemaking, so Lurton have signed contracts with their neighbours by which they control all production aspects in pursuit of the highest quality grapes.

The majority of the harvest comes from Tunuyán-Tupungato region, with other sources at La Consulta and Luján de Cuyo.

Grapes from these regions near the mountains are high in acidity with a marked tannic texture, that Lurton believes will provide a unique balance in enabling their wines to be enjoyed both when still young and also after a few years ageing in the bottle.

All grapes are hand picked
