Pisano is a small family vigneron with an artisan tradition of making wines that reflect the character of the land and the people who make them.
In 1870 Francesco Pisano arrived in Uruguay from Liguria in Northern Italy. It was his son, César Pisano who settled in 1914 in the Progreso Region who planted the original vineyards, producing his first wine in 1924. His marriage to Doña María Elsa Arretxea brought together the Italian and Basque heritage that created the Pisano Family Vineyard.
Today the Pisano Family Winery is run by Daniel, Eduardo and Gustavo, producing flavourful, long lasting wines with a distinctive Uruguayan character.
