“ Miolo’s most important symbol, a 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot blend of our best wines. Purple red colour, from ruby to ochre on the edges. Bouquet shows dried plums, jams, leather, tobacco, truffle and some traces of mint. A fine volume in the mouth, a sensation of unctuousness which denotes its body, with pleasant and mature tannins and a persistent taste in the back of the mouth.”
Miolo Lote 43 pays homage to Giuseppe Miolo, the founder of Miolo in 1897.
Giuseppe Miolo was a youngster from Piombino Dese, a small place in the Italian region of Venetia,
who arrived in Brazil in 1897.
He settled in Bento Gonçalves, a town which had been recently established by Italian immigrants. With his savings he bought a piece of land, Lot 43, in a vineyard valley. No surprise that “Lote 43” is the name assigned to "the noblest wine" currently from the House of Miolo.
